The clinical services aim to design comprehensive Care Plans following evidence-based practices, and where appropriate, based on the specific needs and the complexities of the child or adolescent, a Multi-Disciplinary Team model is followed such as involving a specialist psychiatrist, speech & language therapist and other relevant professionals if necessary.
The services are child/ adolescent-centred, delivered compassionately and they include:
- Assessments that are based on interviews, validated evaluation scales, observations, and licensed diagnostic tests (e.g. neurodevelopmental, cognitive) and Diagnoses designed around the outcome of the assessment.
- Psychotherapeutic Interventions are based on clinical evidence in accordance to clinical and scientific guidelines, selected eclectically for each given condition, and where appropriate, are tailored and personalised for better fit for each child & adolescent and family e.g. Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) etc.
- and extensive Parenting interventions (Behavioural, Emotion-Focused, Psychoanalytically informed, Psychoeducation etc.) to support parents to develop knowledge and skills to help their child.
The services cover a range of difficulties including Developmental (typical and atypical e.g. ADHD, ADD, ASD, Cognitive), Emotional (e.g. anxiety, depression), Behavioural, School related difficulties (social interactions, friendships, bullying, communication, self-esteem, adolescence) and of course Psychopathological phenomena.
Every case is approached sensitively and uniquely to meet the individual needs and strengths of the target child or adolescent and their family environment. Where appropriate, with parental permission, School is also included as children and adolescents spend much of their daily lives in educational environments which the latter plays an essential role in shaping their psychological development. Therefore, school is an important part of producing holistic care plans.
Please do not hesitate to contact The Hampstead Psychology Clinic to discuss about certain conditions or assessments and treatments that you may need, and if we are not able to help, we can still provide some initial information and direct you to more appropriate service providers, if that would be the case.
